Something of interest from the Gaming Room.

This is an ACTUAL Gauss Rifle, made from homemade items, or found round house.

My point here is that it does exist!!!
Just not the way it is presented in Gaming and Fantasy.

Once again, something from mom...

"Let all you do be done in love"

SCARS OF LIFE

Some years ago,
on a hot summer day
in South Florida ,
a little boy decided to go
for a swim in the old swimming hole behind his house.
In a hurry to dive into
the cool water,
he ran out the back door, leaving behind shoes, socks, and shirt as he went.
He flew into the water,
not realizing that as he swam toward the middle of the lake, an alligator was swimming toward the shore.

His father, working in the yard, saw the two as they got closer and closer together.
In utter fear,
he ran toward the water,
yelling to his son as loudly
as he could.

Hearing his voice,
the little boy became alarmed and made a U-turn
to swim to his father.
It was too late.
Just as he reached his father, the alligator reached him.

>From the dock,
the father grabbed his little boy by the arms
just as the alligator
snatched his legs.
That began an incredible
tug-of-war between the two. The alligator was much stronger than the father,
but the father was much
too passionate to let go.

A farmer happened to drive by, heard his screams,
raced from his truck,
took aim and shot the alligator.

Remarkably, after weeks and weeks in the hospital,
the little boy survived.
His legs were extremely scarred by the vicious attack
of the animal.
And, on his arms,
were deep scratches
where his father's fingernails dug into his flesh in his effort
to hang on to the son he loved.

The newspaper reporter
who interviewed the boy
after the trauma,
asked if he would
show him his scars.
The boy lifted his pant legs. And then, with obvious pride, he said to the reporter,
'But look at my arms.
I have great scars
on my arms, too.
I have them because
my Dad wouldn't let go.'

You and I can identify
with that little boy.
We have scars, too.
No, not from an alligator,
but the scars of a painful past. Some of those scars
are unsightly and have
caused us deep regret.
But, some wounds,
my friend,
are because God has refused
to let go.
In the midst of your struggle, He's been there
holding on to you.

The Scripture teaches that
God loves you.
You are a child of God.
He wants to protect you
and
provide for you in every way. But sometimes we foolishly wade into dangerous situations, not knowing what lies ahead. The swimming hole of life
is filled with peril -
and we forget
that the enemy is waiting
to attack.
That's when the tug-of-war begins - and if you have
the scars of His love
on your arms,
be very, very grateful.
He did not and will not ever let you go.

Please pass this on
to those you love.
God has blessed you,
so that you
can be
a blessing to others.
You just never know
where
a person is in his/her life
and
what they are going through. Never judge another
person's scars,
because you don't know
how they got them.
Also,
it is so important that
we are not selfish,
to receive the blessings
of these messages,
without forwarding them
to someone else.
Right now,
someone needs to know that God loves them,
and you love them, too -
enough to not let them go.

I think mom is trying to convert me, lol

You gonna ping them to death with steelies?
I'm just joking of course.
It was pretty neat to see.
I've always wondered if they were real or not.

yes, they are real, but not quite the way they are portrayed in movies and fiction.

In order for it to work in the movies the magnets must be in a ring shape and fit round barrel.

thus, instead of transferring kinetic energy to another ball, it would just keep propelling the same projectile, thus speeding up the "bullet" faster and faster.

The result can also be performed with Electromagnets I believe, though i dont have the funds to simulate that hypothesis. ")

Besides, lol, I am sure its already been done.

Thought this was interesting...

Tiger Moths Jam Bat Sonar
Published: July 16, 2009

In the continuing battle between bats and tiger moths, score one for the tiger moths. A study shows that one moth species uses a different kind of defensive technique to avoid becoming bat fodder.

* Get Science News From The New York Times »

Many bats use echolocation — a type of sonar using ultrasonic pulses — to find insects and other prey. It’s long been known that tiger moths produce ultrasonic clicks of their own, and earlier studies showed that these sounds have two functions. For some moth species that are toxic to bats, the clicks warn the bats to stay away. For others, the clicks startle the bats, allowing the moths time to escape.

In a paper in Science, Aaron J. Corcoran and William E. Conner of Wake Forest University, and Jesse R. Barber of Colorado State University, show that for one tiger moth species, Bertholdia trigona, the clicks serve a third function. They keep big brown bats, which would normally dine on B. trigona, at bay by jamming their sonar.

The researchers set up experiments that eliminated other possible functions. For one thing, if the clicks served to warn the bats that the moths were unpalatable, then the bats would be expected to capture a few of the insects before learning to avoid them. That did not happen. And if there was a startle effect, it would wear off as the bat became accustomed to the sounds. But the researchers found that the moths’ ultrasonic clicks worked over the long term.

Audio recordings also showed that the moth clicks disrupted the bats’ cycle of echolocation calls, which normally increase as the bat nears its target. This, the researchers say, suggest the bats were still trying to capture prey but were confused by the moth clicks.

Sounds like the moths have found a better way to defend themselves. Good read. Thanks for sharing.

The standard Mosler MT900S is a supercar by anyone's standards. It's got a sleek body made of carbon fiber, a 7.0-liter V8 with 550 horsepower, and can hit 60 mph in just over three seconds. But for one of Mosler's customers it just wasn't enough. The owner of this MT900S enlisted the help of Nelson Racing Engines in Chatsworth, CA to build the ultimate motor for his supercar: a twin-turbo 427ci V8 producing up to 1800 horsepower on race fuel and around 1100 horsepower using 91 octane. To help make the car more streetable, boost can be controlled every 100 rpm in each gear. The first few gears are limited to around 6-8 psi, while higher gears can take full boost -- over 30 psi! We recently got the chance to see the car in person at the NRE facility where they were doing final testing on the engine. The dyno run we witnessed netted nearly 1600 horsepower before the intake collapsed from the pressure. We were told that the car should be completely finished in the next couple weeks and that we could come back for a ride. We'll be sure to take them up on the offer!

I would like you to consider this video.
It is so flipping funny that I just HAD to post it!!!

It about the common man getting even, while serving justice to the guilty party.

I love it!!!

Jordan was towed one night while out.
It was a Private Towing Company. They are notorious for towing and then charging outragous recovery prices to get the car out of their impound yard.

HOW TO INSTALL A HOME SECURITY SYSTEM THE REDNECK WAY

1. Go to a secondhand store and buy a pair of men's
used size 14-16 work boots.
2. Place them on your front porch, along with a copy
of Guns & Ammo Magazine.
3. Put a few giant dog dishes next to the boots and
magazines.
4. Leave a note on your door that reads:

Bubba,
Big 'un, Duke, Slim, & I went for more ammo and beer.
Back in an hour. Don't mess with the pit bulls - they
attacked the mailman this morning and messed him up
bad. I don't think Killer took part, but it was hard
to tell from all the blood. Anyway, I locked all four
of 'em in the house. Better wait outside.
